Freedom Boat Club is a members’ only boat club where the Club owns a variety of boats to which the members have unlimited and exclusive access. We provide boats between twenty and forty feet long including fishing boats, bow riders, and cruisers. We have several New York locations, along with many affiliates along the eastern seaboard. The memberships also include social events, classroom instruction and on-the-water orientation and concierge service.

Boater Safety
Upon joining the Club, our members enter the orientation program. Members new to boating can expect the program to last approximately 16 to 20 hours split between classroom and on-the-water instruction. Classes can be scheduled over the course of several days or can be completed in two days (subject to availability). On average, the time from sign up to boating for novice boaters is 2 to 3 weeks and for the most part is determined by the members’ own schedule. Experienced boaters are scheduled for a 2 to 3 hour proficiency with an instructor to demonstrate their established skill.

Making a Reservation

After completing the orientation program and having their skill level determined, members are given access to our online reservation system. The system allows members to make reservations 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Members are also able to call our reservation line during scheduled hours.

Our reservation system has been compared to the system used by the Netflix movie club in which outings are reserved on a rolling basis. Once a reservation is used, members may replace it in the system for a new one at a later date.

Members may also call the “Same Day Reservations Line” without a reservation to request a boat on that “same” day.
A Day in the Life of a Member
On the date and time of a reservation, members arrive at the specific location. The simple process begins here when our staff takes over. Members are greeted at their vehicle and their belongings are carried to their boat. Once situated, the staff goes through the check out process with the members, which includes reviewing the boat's condition, the location of the safety equipment and tide and weather information. Our staff can also provide suggestions for destinations, activities, fishing spots and on-the-water dining. Once the check out process is complete, the members sign out and are on their way.

Members can enjoy a quick run for an hour or take their family away for the entire day or overnight! Prior to their return, members refuel at the local gas dock and radio the staff to inform of their return. Upon their arrival to the dock, members are assisted into their slip by the staff. Once docked and tied, the staff performs a quick review of the boat with the members and then carries their bags to their vehicle. The members are on their way home in a flash. The staff does the hard work of cleaning and covering the vessel and making it ready for the next outing. All the member has left to do is make another reservation.
